Thoughtful care beyond the clinic visit

I designed Quiet Heart Animal Wellness to provide veterinary-experienced support for animals navigating healing, illness, and transition. Services are designed to complement primary veterinary care while reducing stress for both patients and their caregivers.
This work is rooted in clinical experience, gentle hands-on support, and a deep respect for each animal’s individual journey.
-
Support may include:
Post-surgical recovery assistance and rehabilitation support
Gentle bodywork and nervous system regulation
Animal Reiki for recovery, chronic illness, and palliative care
In-home support to reinforce veterinary treatment plans
Calm, informed guidance for caregivers navigating complex care
Distance Reiki and online consultations when appropriate
All services are provided within scope and in collaboration with the animal’s primary veterinarian when applicable.

For animals — and the people who care for them
Quiet Heart is especially supportive for:
Animals recovering from surgery or acute illness
Senior pets and those with chronic conditions
Animals receiving palliative or hospice care
Caregivers seeking calm, knowledgeable support at home
This work honors both medical care and emotional wellbeing.
Experienced. Grounded. Collaborative.
Quiet Heart Animal Wellness is founded by Jeanette Johnstone, a veterinary technician with 25 years of experience in clinical practice and animal rescue, with Reiki training since 2013.
Care is offered with deep respect for veterinary medicine, Ontario regulations, and the importance of collaboration — never replacing, diagnosing, or prescribing, but reinforcing care plans and supporting compliance at home.

"Jeanette Johnstone has always answered her calling in life. When it was called for her to dive into the textbooks to learn the science a veterinary nurse needs to know, she embraced learning all of it. When it called for her to assist a veterinary surgeon in a modern day clinic, or assist a homeless dog or cat on death's bed, she was there for every animal who needed her. She has also gained a great deal of knowledge about animal behaviour and emotional needs. I've seen her work at all of the above. You can be assured that she takes every animal under her care very seriously."
